Another day, another robot martial arts pose. Gearing up for a fight test using this rig called 'Roboter.' He's a good looking rig and so far mostly works pretty well. Not as much control as I'd like. For one, the spine only has 2 controllers, and one of them is the hips... So the only way to get bend in the spine is at the hips and that little circle area at the stomach. I'm used to like 4 or so controllers on the spine, but it's surprisingly flexible given it's limitations. Also there's no reel 'shrug' shoulder controls, and the FK controls on the arms are a little funky. Wish it had those shoulder shrugs to give me some more emotion, but that's the challenge of working with unfamiliar rigs (as i imagine it's like in the workplace) make what you have work how you want it!! I should have a blocking pass on my Fight test up by the end of the week. In the meantime, here's my Pose-A-Day:
